It's about a farm that used to be run by my friends Jaffa & Joss on the 1900 block of Cherokee Street, Saint Louis Missouri, U.S.A. I performed live in concert there at least once, and there may be YouTube evidence of that. Maybe even of playing this very song there. Slow Rocket abandoned the farm a coupla years ago now, and its constituents moved to parts unknown, so there probably won't one day be a goat to feed or a tractor to oil, after all.
lyrics
You may not see, an actual rocket
But you might go home, with spice in your pocket
You may not see, a farm drivin' by,
Just slow yerself down, and give a wave "hi!"
Help pull some weeds, and help plant some seeds,
Maybe someday there'll be a goat you can feed...
You may not see, the sprouts comin' up,
But you might go home, with some in a cup.
You may not see, that it's such a treat,
Just farmin' a farm, on Cherokee Street
Help rake some soil, a hose to uncoil
Maybe one day, there'll be a tractor to oil...
Slow Rocket Farm, with chickens and crops
Slow Rocket Farm, where the fun never stops
Slow Rocket Farm, Slow Rocket Urban Farm
Slow Rocket Farm, we'll be doin' so well
Slow Rocket Farm, it's as urban as hell
Slow Rocket Farm, Slow Rocket Urban Farm
Slow Rocket Farm, you can be your own boss,
Slow Rocket Farm, here with Jaffa and Joss
Slow Rocket Farm, Slow Rocket Urban Farm
A mostly-improvised (so I'm told) little punk record with one of my favorite songs in a long time on't (the title track). I liked it so much, I put it on the most recent Pancake Sampler! Pancake Productions
