about

Over the course of the second and third quarters of MMXV, I collected songs from my friends about Pancakes, specifically to compile this compilation and to usher in a new era of Pancake Samplers.

As always, I recommend getting the physical CD copy from me in person, as that is a cooler way to get it (limited run of 199!), includes the complete artwork and packaging (not seen here), and comes with a cool STICKER inside! Also it's the same price as just downloading a buncha boring ol' files here.

Here's what the liner-notes say:

"Dear Friends,

For awhile, after the initial four seasonally-oriented Pancake Samplers--whose respective themes were more about the time of year in which each was released than any substantive unifying mores--time went by, and I tended to wonder whether I would ever put out another Pancake Sampler, and if so: how, when, what would it be, and so on? I knew if I did it would have to be in the manner that I ultimately did this one: With a specific theme, dictated by myself to all involved acts. How better to start than with a theme of Pancakes themselves? It has been a pretty rewarding experience seeing the direction that various acts took, both musically and thematically, when given this blanket topic. I could neither be happier with the results on, nor with the downright voluminous turnout for, this sampler (look at that track count!). Thank you, friends and family, for taking a chance, for doing something absurd, for contributing to a wild idea in all of your own special and strange ways, for being a part of this, and for letting me be a part of what you can make, and have made. The tracks appear in a sequence comparable to (but not quite exactly reflecting) the order in which they were received.

The tunes and pieces hereupon are the sole property of the creators who made ‘em. If you want more information about, or music by, any of ‘em, please look ’em up on the world wide web or get in touch with me. I’d be happy to put you in touch.

Party Big, Wail Hard, and Be Wonderful.

Love,
Robert 'PANCAKE MASTER' Severson"

Also, these things are presented in a hand-numbered limited CD run of just one-hundred-ninety-nine (199). Order yer CD copy at www.pancakeproductions.net/music/compilations/pp022.html !
